In a series of short films, artists from Town Camps in Mparntwe (Alice Springs) animate their paintings and soft-sculpture works to tell personal, historical and ancestral stories. Painters Nora Abbott, Joanne Wheeler and Doris Thomas, from Tangentyere Artists, create a series of enchanting scenes that share wisdom and experience, while Rhonda Sharpe, from Yarrenyty Arltere Artists, relates episodes from her life. Together, their ‘olden days’ stories activate memory, culture and Country. Their films are:

  • Nora Abbott, My Grandfather been tell me a lot of story about Lasseter
  • Joanne Wheeler, Early Days in Palm Valley
  • Doris Thomas, Irretye, Tapatjatjaka (Wedge-tailed eagle story at Titjikala)
  • Rhonda Sharpe, My Selfs with Cowboy
