SALA 2025
AGSA celebrates the South Australian Living Artist Festival (SALA) with a selection of works by Adelaide-based artist Sue Kneebone. Kneebone is an interdisciplinary visual artist with an exhibition practice spanning more than twenty years and is the feature artist for SALA Festival 2025. Her creative practice encompasses the processes of assemblage and montage to evoke new associations and contexts about memory, history and place.
Informed by deep research, Kneebone’s works of art seek to to stir up the spectre of what has been overlooked or suppressed in Australian historical memory. Kneebone has been known to describe her haunting aesthetic as akin to a ‘Feral Aussie Gothic’.
This display reiterates AGSA’s ongoing commitment to the acquisition and display of works by South Australian artists.
