Viv Miller
Folk is an animation that incorporates more than 200 hand-drawn pictures in pencil and gouache, text, basic computer graphics and a soundtrack. The film, which runs for almost five minutes, reveals Miller’s interest in how the screen might recompose and recontextualise her original drawings.
Viv Miller works across drawing, painting and animation. Moving between abstraction and realism, her practice is characterised by a somewhat faux-digital, synthetic aesthetic.
