Mike Parr
Mike Parr (b. 1945, Sydney) is a leading artist who has been a vital force in Australian art for over fifty years. His prolific oeuvre includes performance, drawings, print, sculpture and photographs. In 1970 Parr co-founded the first artist-run gallery in Australia, Inhibodress, an independent space for artists to experiment with conceptual text-based work and performance. Parr often uses his own body as a medium for political and art world critique, as well as to interrogate physical, psychological and social boundaries between self and other.
