First Fridays: Soft Power

Join Loren Kronemyer, Adelaide Biennial Artist and guest curator of our March First Friday event for an evening of subversive performance, music, and action. In the AGSA Courtyard, Kronemyer presents a section of Pony Express's performance work Abolish the Olympics. Kronemyer attempts to perform 33 Olympic sports in one hour accompanied by a musical score by DJ hosting. In the AGSA Galleries join a guided tour of the Adelaide Biennial then finish the night listening to our guest DJ’s.

Guest DJ Bronze Savage, lutruwita (Tasmania)
Bronze Savage has been helping jump start the thriving Hobart club scene with a cluster of different projects. Tonight he has jumped Bass Strait to share his original sounds at AGSA.

Performance – Abolish the Olympics
In the AGSA Courtyard, Kronemyer will present a section of Pony Express's 2021 performance work Abolish the Olympics. Kronemyer will attempt to perform a variation of 33 Olympic sports in one hour, accompanied by a musical score by DJ Hosting and commentary from herself and Ian Sinclair. Pony Express’s metaphysical, speculative stadium takes audiences on a deep dive into the unscrupulous global branding exercise of the mega sports industrial complex.

2022 Adelaide Biennial artists Darren Sylvester will step out of the Gallery and behind the decks for a mix of new wave, goth and tambourine pop.
