Kick off the first Friday of the year with a soulful night of music, talks and tours. Be immersed in Corey Theatre’s lyrical tales before enjoying the electrifying pop sounds of Miiesha. Try your hand at sketching sculpturally in a traditional Ngarrindjeri weaving workshop with Sonya Rankine and hear from Tarnanthi artist Sandra Saunders in conversation with Dr Jess Wallace and Emma Fey, CEO of Guildhouse. Delve further into Tarnanthi with a guided tour of the exhibition.

Musical Performance - Corey Theatre

Lose yourself in the melodic tales of Corey Theatre, a Gunditjmara-Belgian singer songwriter. Theatre’s tunes tell stories of Country, love and politics, and work to aid the revival of the Gunditjmara and Kaurna languages.

Be inspired by Ngarrindjeri weaving techniques in this introductory workshop led by Sonya Rankine, Ngarrindjeri, Narungga, Ngadjuri and Wirangu artist.

Artist in Conversation
Join Wangary-based Ngarrindjeri painter and activist Sandra Saunders in conversation with her mentor, Dr Jess Wallace. Facilitated by Emma Fey, CEO of Guildhouse, this conversation will unpack Sandra’s and Jess’s process of working together, Sandra’s multifaceted activist arts practice, and the impact of working together in painting and documentary filmmaking. This talk will be followed by a screening of Sandra’s film.

Musical Performance - Miiesha

Making her quick ascent into the world of music, Miiesha is a strong proud Pitjantjatjara/Torres Strait Islander woman. Her R&B/Soul laced voice and music brings people together, helps us learn more about her community she now lives and inspires all to share.
