First Fridays: Reflect & Connect

Celebrate the new year and enjoy the final Tarnanthi: Open Hands First Friday. Bid farewell to 2020 with a traditional Kaurna cleansing ceremony and Welcome to Country led by Jack Kanya Buckskin from Kuma Kaaru ‘one blood’.

Join Nici Cumpston OAM, Artistic Director of Tarnanthi, for an intimate exhibition walk-through of Open Hands which pays tribute to the work of senior women artists. Vibe to trio ‘Dem Mob’ who weave soul music, RnB and rap to express their connection to country and community. Learn more on a guided tour of the Tarnanthi 2020 exhibition.

Music in the courtyard
For the first set of the night listen to LBG, three rappers and DJs from Port Lincoln who have developed a deep passion for Hip Hop and Rap music. They write, rap and produce their own beats to inspire the younger generations. Next up, vibe to the trio Dem Mob as they sing in English and Pitjantjatjara. Hailing from the APY Lands Dem Mob weave soul music, RnB and rap to express their connection to country and community.
