First Fridays: Purple Haze

Take a tour of Quilty, the first major survey exhibition of one of Australia's most acclaimed contemporary artists, Ben Quilty. Enjoy music from multi-award winning producer, composer and performer DJ Tr!p, then hear from exhibition curator Dr Lisa Slade who will share her knowledge of Ben Quilty’s practice.

Painting from life workshop - Sorry, sold out

Be inspired by Ben Quilty’s vulnerability evoked by his expressive portraits. Try your hand at oil stick painting from a live model. Beginners and advanced artists alike will be guided through exercises in line, tone and gesture by artist and educator Luke Thurgate.
