Pleasance Opening

Inspired by the meandering, tranquil flow of the nearby Karrawirra Parri/River Torrens, Pleasance is an immersive architectural folly conceived of as a collaboration between Superbloom + Fallow. Located in the courtyard sculpture garden of the Art Gallery of South Australia, Pleasance is a living artwork that extends from the marquee into a living artwork, where plants and sculptures frame intimate moments of connection. Designed using unexpected combinations of species, this plant-forward experience invites the viewer to pause and revel in a journey through a rich tactile field of colour, beauty and awe.

Pleasance is open during Gallery hours from 27 September - 19 October.

Superbloom Book Launch and Book Signing

Celebrate the transformative power of flowers with renowned horticulturist and Super Bloom author Jac Semmler at First Fridays.

Flowers bring beauty, joy and sustenance. The cultivation of flowers is a creative gateway, allowing us to discover profound and surprising truths about ourselves. Everyone needs flowers in their life.

With a focus on abundant flora, Semmler’s book Super Bloom and its companion, The Super Bloom Handbook, offers a how-to guide for gardening that emphasises the critical role flowers play in our lives.

Super Bloom is a field guide to flowers and a reinvention of the flower and gardening encyclopedia. Containing 75 plant profiles of the most beautiful flowers and foliage, to bring shape, colour and beauty to any garden, it’s perfect for the current time and trends, and also shows readers how to create their own super bloom.
