Be among the first to see Nalini Malani: Gamepieces. A radically inventive artist, Nalini Malani was born in 1946 in Karachi the year before Partition in India. Her practice spans five decades and is celebrated in this first major Australian survey. Join us for the launch of this immersive and sensorial exhibition. Following the launch, renowned singer and Kathak dancer Parvyn will perform with her group Sadhana followed by a duo performance with Australian sitarist Josh Bennett.

Renowned singer and Kathak dancer Parvyn teams up with Australian sitarist Josh Bennett and tabla virtuoso Jay Dabgar to present a thrilling display of Indian rhythm, melody, song and movement. "Sadhana" means spiritual devotion to your life's endeavour.

Musical Performance – Parvyn and Josh Bennett

This acoustic duo creates a musical journey from bluegrass to Brazil, via India. Drawing on a vast range of musical styles and influences, Parvyn and Josh combine stunning virtuosity with warm harmonies, melody and groove. Between their original compositions are some of their favourite traditional and contemporary songs from far-flung genres including jazz, blues, classical Indian, and folk.
