First Fridays: Garden of Artistic Delights

Stay up late on the first Friday of every month and enjoy a curated program of live music, performances, talks and tours.

All the world’s a garden at AGSA this First Friday. Take a tour of the collection that cultivates your curiosity by focussing on the botanical and the aromatic, test your green thumb with botanical drawing inspired by the collection and enjoy refreshments made in collaboration with the plant world.

AGSA's Spirit Partner, Archie Rose Distilling Co. will be hosting a Pop Up Spritz Bar in the Sculpture Garden where they will be selling a selection of delicious Spritzers inspired by First Friday's Botanical theme.

Take your choice between a tour of the collection focussing on the botanical and the aromatic in art, or a tour of the current display, Adelaide Cool: The abstract art of David and John Dallwitz.

Musical Performance - Bromham
Bromham are an eclectic sprawling folk band from Adelaide that weave their broad range of instruments into one raucous yet harmonious sound. Experience the joy of soaring group vocals with music that emphasises family, community, and equality.

Test your green thumb on a botanical drawing tour with Artist Louise Flaherty. Unearthing botanical themed works of art in the Melrose and Elder Wing, this 60-minute tour will give you an opportunity to try out different drawing skills and feature simple techniques to represent flora native to the Adelaide plains. No experience necessary and all materials supplied. Places are limited.
