Help us to acquire Magdalena Carmen Frida Kahlo by Australian artist Fiona McMonagle.

The star subject of our next major exhibition, Kahlo is conjured here by Melbourne-based McMonagle in watercolour, an unforgiving art medium that has become McMonagle’s signature strength. In this proposed acquisition McMonagle captures the iconic Mexican painter’s strength and sensibility.

McMonagle’s portrait will be on prominent display when Frida & Diego: Love & Revolution exhibition opens to the public on 24 June.
