Transforming Techniques: Last Chance Workshops!

Extend learning with expert tuition provided by key South Australian visual artists in the areas of observation, composition, use of media, line, tone and proportion. Students who participate in the Gallery’s workshops will have the opportunity to exhibit their works in Transforming Techniques, a SALA drawing exhibition showcasing the work of South Australian students.

Anatomy Drawing - Wednesday 24 July
Flesh out your drawing practice! Develop your knowledge of the skeleton, the muscular system and its functions through anatomical objects, the Gallery’s collection and expert artist tuition.

Life Drawing - Thursday 25 July
Explore the practice and principles of drawing the human form. View works by Hans Heysen Ivor Hele, Nora Heysen, Godfrey Miller & Jeffrey Smart and experiment with anatomically correct renderings to loose expressive sketches while learning from the human figure.

Self-Portraiture - Friday 26 July
Established artist facilitators will guide students through a series of drawings exploring facial features, mark making, structure, facial planes and tone before beginning their final self-portrait.
