Year 11 Animation - St John's Grammar
Mark making, collage and animation inspired by William Kentridge
Year 11 students from St John’s Grammar were inspired by William Kentridge’s stop motion animations, his use of mixed media and his thoughtful conceptual work.
Each student produced a two dimensional art piece and a short animation in response to the Adani mine proposal in Qld. Two students wrote, performed and recorded the soundtrack, another collated the class body of work and edited the animation in Adobe Premiere. They called their animation That which we cannot control.
St John’s Grammar students combined activities suggested in the William Kentridge resource, which was also a great source of ideas for exploration work in their folios
