  • WALL LABEL: The Sleep of Reason Produces Monsters, 2020

In the book of Revelation, as the lamb broke open the first four seals of the scroll, four apocalyptic riders were unleashed to bring destruction on the world. The first rider, on a white horse, held a bow; the second, on a red horse, held a great sword; the third, on black horse, held a set of scales; and the fourth rider was death. Dürer depicts their forceful charge as they trample humanity beneath them.
