WALL LABEL: Andy Warhol and Photography: A Social Media, 2023
Andy Warhol met the band Curiosity Killed the Cat at his exhibition opening in London in 1986, and later that year produced the video clip for their song ‘Misfit’ in New York. The clip was filmed in a friend’s loft and on the rooftop and then later on the streets. Warhol can be seen in the clip carrying a boom box, and then parodying Bob Dylan’s ‘Subterranean homesick blues’ video clip, by dropping large white cards in time to the music.
Here Migi Drummond, the band’s drummer, is captured by Warhol playing on abandoned furniture on the location of the clip. It was Warhol’s last musical collaboration before his death.
