  • This body suit, jacket and boots are by Cami James and Nadia Napreychikov of fashion design company DISCOUNT UNIVERSE.  Made for their 2016 collection, Sin is In, the outfit includes a cobalt-blue sequinned and studded ‘graffiti-style’ jacket and features political statements, objectionable phrases and explicit imagery. James and Napreychikov have treated the jacket as a canvas for protest.  The sequinned and studded applied text on the jacket reads ‘GOD is cool, but SATAN does that thing you like with his Tongue’, ‘NEVER QUIT LOVIN’ UR CLIP’ and ‘God wants you to touch yourself’.


     

    James and Napreychikov met as fashion students at RMIT, Melbourne, and their shared interest in experimentation and rebellion in fashion design established a bone between them.  Since 2009 the pair has worked together to produce a distinctive brand of feminist punk glamour, becoming the rebels of the Australin fashion industry. Their brand, DISCOUNT UNIVERSE, is built on a mutal aesthetic and a shared desire for political change.
