  • WALL LABEL: Hans Heysen: The Creative Journey, 1992

     

    This photograph shows Heysen in his studio ready to commence a new painting.  He has drawn the main outlines of the composition in pencil onto the blank canvas. The composition is very similar to the drawing The quarry, Mount Lofty, shown in this exhibition.
