Bush Footy Studio is inspired by the work of husband-and-wife duo Dinni Kunoth Kemarre and Josie Kunoth Petyarre. They live with their family at Apungalindum, a small outstation of Utopia (NT) approximately 250 kilometres north-east of Alice Springs.

Since 2006, ‘team Kunoth’ have been celebrating the role of Australian Football in Central Australian communities. Kemarre’s painted wooden sculptures depict portraits of esteemed players, doubling as trophies. Petyarre’s paintings of ‘bush-style’ football describe large community gatherings of players and extended families, trucks and dogs against a rich field of red sand.

Opening within days of the AFL Grand Final, the Bush Footy Studio is kicking goals with free art activities for all ages this season. Design your own sports kit, make your mark with a footballer or football fan to adorn The Studio and join the Bush Footy Hall of Fame.
